Should I ever meet a
wiseacre, a smart aleck or a wise guy
I'd just remain mum-
Pretending to be stupid or ignorant
Letting the know-it-all have all the say
Allowing the fool to remain to be stupid and ignorant
While I stay bemused and confident
That I knew more than the braggadocio of an ignoramus.
I've felt many a time, delighted
To have people coming to seek my advice
On things they felt I knew something about
And accepting what I'd to say
Going away happy and satisfied
Rather than arguing out of ignorance
Causing me to remain silent and bemused instead.
