Grandfathers Can Be of Some Help

"You've been spending more time in England than in your country! Why?" an immigration officer looking through their passports asked a youngish, elderly couple.

"We've been coming to mind our grandchildren", replied the grandfather.

"That's great of you. Enjoy your grand-kids. Have a good day", and allowed the grandparents through.

The retired dentist did not tell the officer that they had been travelling thousands of kilometres, not only to mind their two grandchildren but to double as maid, driver, chef, nanny, teacher and butler to them.
He was very happy to be of some help and he enjoyed being with his grandchildren very much.

He deemed himself fortunate that his daughter needed him to come in the first place. He had heard of friends who had not been welcomed either by their children or their spouses and so rarely met their grandchildren.
