No One was going to Spoil Our Holiday

On a trip to China, I received a call that my house had been broken into and it had been terribly ransacked, as soon as I arrived at a hotel from the airport in Hangzhou

The burglars must have seen us leaving home with our luggage for the airport in the capital city in the small hours of the morning, and started breaking in after we left.

I decided there and then that no one was going to spoil our holiday. Nothing could be done about it. No one was going to dampen our holiday spirit.

We spent nearly a month in China and we were very well-feted in Urumqi and Korla in Xinjiang. Everyone was warm, hospitable and generous to us. We had a wonderful holiday.

Coming home, we found our house in a mess but we were quite relieved that the burglars were only after money. They had managed to get away with some cash but had left everything else behind.
