I went to my newsagent for a
newspaper and she excitedly said to me, "My grandson brought a girlfriend
home yesterday evening! He just said, ' Ah
Mah, here's my girlfriend' ".
I could see that she was rather
proud and excited about it and I said, "Congratulations! You may be a
great grandmother soon!"
She smiled broadly and then went on
to tell the others who came to buy newspapers about her grandson having a
girlfriend. She was one proud and excited grandmother. She was much younger
than I. She must have got married when she was in her very early teens and so must
have her son.
I wonder whether I would have the
opportunity to see my oldest grandson have a girlfriend one day in the very
distant future. He's just turned six!
