After being well-feted
By friends in Australia and China,
I sported a noticeable paunch
Which upset me very much indeed.
I went on a diet of eating less
But soon constant hunger pangs
Made me eat more instead
And my potbelly became much bigger!
I went on an exercise regimen, too
Walking round a field daily, every morning and evening
But I gave it up after three months
As I had only lost one pound in weight!
Coming to Bonn, I went everywhere on foot,
And, because of the sub-zero, wintry weather
I didn't feel much hunger and so ate less
Voila! My paunch became noticeably smaller.
